JANE + GREG
Oct 15, 2019
Wedding photography provided at the exclusive Oakland Hills Country Club by Jen and Aaron, who are two of Southeast Michigan's most creative wedding photographers! Jane and Greg's wedding day did not disappoint! We felt like the luckiest team in the world to be able to work with two of the most incredible, kind and compassionate people and take wedding photographs at Oakland Hills Country Club where Greg once worked as a Golf Pro! I hate to admit this but I didn't even know what a golf professional was until I met Jane and Greg. I feel silly but it's true! Jen and Aaron started with Jane and Greg at Oakland Hills where they covered all the bridal party prep and fun before Jane and Greg's first look on the club's famous back porch! I loved their first look and Oakland Hill's back porch was the perfect spot for it. After their first look and a few family portraits everyone headed over to Holy Name in Birmingham where Jane and Greg tied the knot and made their union official. It was starting to rain so we had to work quickly, but luckily we were able to snap a few lovely images outside the church before the rain came down. After the ceremony it was back to Oakland Hills for an enjoyable wedding reception that knocked our socks off. We LOVE the extra special night photos we captured outside and of course the images of Jane and Greg dancing in the foyer of Oakland Hills Country Club. Congratulations to Jane and Greg!!! We are a little behind with blogging so this post is long overdue, but we wanted to share the images! Oakland Hills Country Club is on our preferred list of FAVORITE VENUES!
CAYLA + ZACH'S WEDDING DAY AT PINE KNOB MANSION
Jun 16, 2019
Wedding photography provided at the gorgeous Pine Knob Mansion by lead shooters Kellie Saunders and Jen Beattie, one of Southeast Michigan's most creative photography teams. I have to admit I'm a little behind on blogging, which I apologize for. It's been such a crazy year full of blessings because business is booming! We are back into the full swing of wedding season and I'm vowing to get caught up with blogging along with the regular wedding season fun that we have to tend to. I'll keep the writing short and sweet so I can catch up and you can see some gorgeous photos! Cayla and Zach couldn't be a lovelier couple and never will you find two people more suited for each other. Cayla's parents worked for the national parks service so she grew up in places like Alaska and oh yeah, yellowstone too! What an amazing journey she had growing up. Well, I guess it's perfect for her that she met Zach who is a REAL farmer! I say real because let's face it, everyone has a garden. But Zach - he has a farm (and a tractor too!). We had the best time working together and Jen and I loved their friends and families! Pine Knob couldn't was so beautiful as the weather was perfect for their outdoor ceremony. They were even able to dance outside under the stars where they had their first dance. We love photographing weddings at Pine Knob Mansion and Carriage House, so if you are having a wedding there, please contact us because we'd love to get to know you and see if we are a good fit for your big day!
AMANDA + COREY
Jan 17, 2019
Southeast Michigan wedding photography in Birmingham, MI at The Birmingham Community House and Academy of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bloomfield Hills provided by Kellie and Jen, two favorite Southeast Michigan wedding photographers. This has to be my favorite rainy day wedding of all time! It actually rarely rains all day long on a wedding day. Often the rain stops for a short time and we can go outside for a few quick moments to create bridal party portraits and of course portraits with our couple alone. However on this day, mother nature had other plans for us. Michigan decided that it was going to rain and rain and then rain some more. Even futher, to top it off, mother nature said, "Hey wedding people - I think I'm going to rain like really, really hard!" So needless to say, we had to work with what we had to work with on this day. We were blessed to be able to work with Amanda and Corey because they really knew how to just go with the flow and enjoy the heck out of their day, feeling every single moment and more importantly, living and experiencing each moment. What makes your wedding day come to life is actually living the moments and taking them in, each one as it comes. Amanda and Corey are not strangers to exceptional moments though. Their proposal story is one fantastic moment. They met in high school through a friend. They dated for 8 years filled with fun memories and experiences. Corey didn't know how he could top the last eight years, but somehow he managed to propose in the most romantic and picturesque way. Using the backdrop of wild horses and the ocean, his proposal couldn't have been more perfect as he decided to ask Amanda to marry him on the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Of course Amanda said YES, and I'm so happy that she did because I was able to work with an exceptional couple and meet all their friends and family and learn what exactly makes them so special. Regardless of the rain on their wedding day, Amanda and Corey were prepared for a fantastic day and fantastic is just what happened. Thanks to the infamous "uncle pizza" (well that's my nick name for him), Amanda had quite the luxurious home to prepare for her wedding in. Amanda did a reveal on her wedding day to her bridesmaids and shortly thereafter we headed over to Sacred Heart church in Bloomfield Hills so she could meet Corey at the alter. Corey, breathed each moment in and when he saw Amanda for the first time, it's one of my favorite groom captures of all time. His face is filled with love and I couldn't help but smile. We took what photos we could inside the church, and because of the rain made our way to the Birmingham Community House and used the inside for portraits as well. The Birmingham Community House is such a beautiful wedding venue. The location is perfect as it's right downtown and there's a park across the street along with other little nooks and interesting places we can use for wedding portraits. We had a great time photographing the wedding inside the Birmingham Community House, but I had an even better time later. Lucky for me, after dinner before dancing began Corey and Amanda decided they were up for adventure and wanted to head outside and dance in the rain for a few moments. If you know me at all you know I was more than happy about this request! You can see the results below, but what fun we had! Please join me in congratulating Amanda and Corey as they begin their lives together! They told me they plan on moving to the Outer Banks one day as they both love the warm weather. I hope that happens for them and I wish them all the love and happiness in the world!
GENNA + JUSTIN's PLANTERRA WEDDING PHOTOS
Jan 1, 2019
Metro Detroit Michigan wedding photography at the elegant Planterra provided by Kellie Saunders and her team of creative Detroit, MI wedding photographers. This wedding was photographed by Kellie and Jen together. Jen is a remarkable lead wedding photographer, please check out some of her weddings by clicking HERE. She is available for weddings as a lead shooter, so please inquire for your wedding date. Oh Planterra, Planterra, Planterra ... I know I've said it before in many previous blog posts, but I feel that I can't say it enough. I simply LOVE working at this venue! Planterra is one of my favorite places to photograph a wedding. From the attentive and energetic staff, to the delightful and stylish handmade floral arrangements, to the masterfully prepared food which will take over your pallette in a good way. Planterra offers an elegant, spectacular and one of a kind wedding day experience to couples and their friends and family. I simply will never tire of working there. Genna and Justin's wedding day began at the Baronette Renaissance Hotel in Novi which is a great starting point as it's close to Planterra. Genna and Justin prepared for their day at the hotel, but planned on having their first look at Planterra. If you are having your wedding at Planterra we definitely advise you to have a first look so that you have time to really use the venue to it's fullest potential for your wedding day photographs. This is a personal decision and one we can discuss with you, but we definitely suggest taking a look at your timeline if you want some of these images as we can really only do it when the venue is empty, which is before your ceremony takes place. After Genna and Justin were ready they made their way separately over to Planterra where they saw each other for the first time. It was such a sweet and loving moment as they chose to be alone. We stood back and photographed from a distance, and I can't help but smile when I think their first look. We took wedding day photographs for their bridal party and even finished up with the family formals before their ceremony, so that way once the party started, Genna and Justin were free to party! And party they did! What an absolute fun time they had and trust me they tore up the dance floor. Join me in wishing them a happy life filled with love and laughter! I enjoyed every single part of their wedding day and can't wait to return to my favorite venue ever - Planterra!
Michigan Wedding Photographer's Favorite Venues | Pine Knob Mansion Wedding Pictures

Michigan wedding photography at the elegant Pine Knob Mansion provided by Kellie Saunders and her team of creative MI wedding photographers. What I love best about photographing weddings at Pine Knob Mansion is just that - photographing weddings at Pine Knob Mansion. It doesn't get any better than this venue. What an aboslutely stunning backdrop to commit to one another against. Had I realized the gorgeous splendor of this estate years ago when I was planning my own wedding, I may have had my wedding here as well. This was one of my most memorable weddings of all times. Natalia and Pete are an adorable couple originally from Michigan but living out of state. If you know Italian weddings, you know they are full of love, full of laughter and full of about six hundred family and friends! Well maybe not six hundred, but gosh my Italian weddings are usually very big. Well, Natlia and Pete chose Pine Knob and I'm so glad they did because it is a grand venue and one of my favorites. The ceremony was outdoors on a beautiful day with blue skies and summer sunshine. They were married under the gazebo which set a beautiful scene for their vows. The grounds are gorgeous and well kept so I was able to capture beautiful portraits of the couple and their bridal party. One of the best things about Pine Knob is the outdoor area for dancing under the stars at night. Natalia and Pete's band was set up outside so after dinner there was fun and dancing until the wee hours. This was a beautiful wedding, one that goes down in my memory as a favorite. I highly recommend Pine Knob Mansion for your wedding venue. The staff and food are amazing and the grounds lovely. The manionsion itself is grand and historic.
