Metro Detroit Michigan wedding photography by Kellie Saunders and her team of top Detroit and Ann Arbor Michigan wedding photographers.
What can I say about Peggy and Gil? It was pure delight for this Metro Detroit Michigan's best wedding photographer and my team to be a part of this special day. From the moment we met the happy couple they treated us with such warmth and love! We truly felt like part of the family!
On the day of the joyous celebration, we met Peggy at the Oakland Hills Community Church where she greeted us with smiles, hugs, and laughter. Soon after we had a first look with Peggy and Gil on the church grounds, and their eyes lit up like they were ablaze with stars! A few intimate moments at a nearby park to commemorate and celebrate the love these two share followed, then we headed back to the church so the couple could say their “I dos.” Following the ceremony, we headed over to Burton Manor to celebrate with friends, family, good food, good music, and some fabulous dancing! Help me raise a glass and celebrate the love of two amazing people, who allowed us into their family for this special day! Congratulations Peggy and Gil! Here is to the two of you, we wish you all the joy, love and laughter that this lifetime can bring.

Metro Detroit Michigan wedding photography at the elegant Waterview Loft at the Port of Detroit provided by Kellie Saunders and her team of creative Detroit, MI wedding photographers.
OHHHHHH KAYYYY - can I just say WOWSERS!!!! I'm not sure that's even a word, but I'm going with it anyway. What an absolutely beautiful, gorgeous and unique day for Lisa and Brian, as they celebrated their wedding with the best wedding photography team in Michigan! Every detail, from the made in Michigan wedding gownd to the reception grand entrance by yacht felt uniquely designed for this amazing couple. I'm just going to tell you how the day went from moment one.
We started off our day with Lisa at the couple’s home in Grosse Pointe Woods, where everyone was happily involved with the getting ready process…and I mean everyone! Even the couple’s sweet rescue pooch was there to help Lisa prepare for the day! He was a loveable little fellow and had I not been working the wedding, I would have just stayed and cuddled with Wembley and his doggie tuxedo all day long! But alas work called, so we had to move on. Lisa's gown was stunning, original and also made in Michigan! After Lisa dressed, she received a gift from Brian which was a gold bracelet that had special meaning to the couple. There wasn't a dry eye in the room. It was a lovely moment and we were humbled to be a part of it.
From their home we headed to St. Paul Catholic Church where the couple exchanged their vows. Afterwards, we grabbed some lovely portraits at the Bayview Yacht Club in Detroit before the couple boarded the 50’ Beneteau sailing yacht that took them to their Port of Detroit Waterview Loft reception! Did I say they had a yacht grand entrance? This entrance will never happen again for any other couple because it's nearly impossible to get the city of Detroit to agree to docking a private vessel at this prestigious location. It's only meant for commercial and goverment watercraft. Lisa and Brian pulled major strings to get this done - but it was well worth it and wow - did we capture some amazing images for them. Join me in congratulating these two on a beautiful union! I adore Lisa and Brian. They are just good, kind hearted people. Join me in wishing them a lifetime of much laughter and happiness as they sail into their future together! Here’s a few of some of my favorite moments from their uniquely amazing day!

Tina's Country House Wedding by Metro Detroit Michigan's best wedding photographer

Metro Detroit Michigan wedding photography by Kellie Saunders and her team of top Detroit and Ann Arbor Michigan wedding photographers.
Lynsay and Ken were blessed with beautiful weather and surrounded by warm loving friends and family for their Tina's Country House Wedding. It was a great day to have a wedding in Michigan and this photography proves it. Lynsay and Ken met years ago in school but rekindled their love later in life. They have a beautiful story and I was so happy to work with Ken and Lynsay. One interesting thing they did was have their DJ tell their love story during dinner. What a great idea! They are also parents to two of the most well behaved pit bull cuties that I’ve had the pleasure to meet. I love it when I get puppy slobber on my face at weddings. That is a bonus for me! Lynsay and Ken chose Tina’s Country House as their venue and it did not disappoint. The outdoor ceremony was lovely and because of it’s location we were able to take them to a nearby field to get some really unique and creative images.

Old St. Mary's and International Banquet Center Wedding Pictures | Greektown Detroit, Michigan
Jul 5, 2014
Detroit Michigan wedding photography at the stylish International Banquet Center inside the Atheneum Hotel located in Greektown was provided by Kellie Saunders and her team.
If you want to see a couple of stunning Detroit rooftop wedding pictures along with a beautiful Old St. Mary's ceremony in Greektown, then this is the post for you. When I first met with Marya at my studio she brought her dad Peter along. I have to admit I was a little nervous. I’m never one to back down from a challenge but Peter works in film – like real films – movies and commercials and stuff like that. Being a professional in the creative field, he knows his stuff and he knows photography – that’s for sure. I thought to myself, “Well, if Marya hires me I better bring my A game on her wedding day.” Now to all of my other brides, I always bring my A game of course – but with a film producer for a dad I knew I had a very special assignment. He’s one of us – an artist. Marya is his little girl. I needed to do this right because one day someone will be photographing my little girl on her wedding day and I want that person to put just as much love into their job as I did for Marya and her husband Mike.
Our day started out at the Atheneum Suites hotel for Marya and Mike's preparation for their big day. Marya and Mike had side by side suites so it made my job a lot easier. I hadn't met Mike before the wedding day so I spent a little time getting to know him. I discovered that he is a firefighter and everyone knows how I love first responders. My husband is a police officer so I have a special place in my heart for them. Mike's firefighting background would soon come in handy because later that evening we had a few walls to scale to get on top of the roof at the Atheneum for some special rooftop photos. We left for Old St. Mary's where Marya and Mike had a full catholic mass with a very special priest who was their family priest. After the ceremony we headed to the Detroit Institute of Arts where my team took Marya and Mike's wedding portraits. We had a blast and Mary and Mike were the perfect subjects. After that we headed back to the Atheneum where inside is the International Banquet Center. The staff at the International Banquet Center is simply fantastic and the food amazing. I work at many amazing venues but this is one of my most favorite. The banquet manager asked if we wanted to go on the roof and well - who am I to say no? It wasn't as simple as walking onto the roof. We had to scale a few walls and poor Mike, he had to help my big butt over a wall or two as well (but that's where his firefighter background came in handy - lol). In the end it was the perfect decision and wow - I was in love with the images we created.
Marya and Mike gave me a gift whether they realize it or not. Just being chosen to photograph their wedding was a privilege and honor. They presented me the gift of the most beautiful wedding, lovely warm and friendly personalities, beautiful inviting friends and families, a historic venue, and BONUS to me – they wanted to scale a rooftop to get a few photos. It’s true that even after all of my years photographing weddings I still get excited to work every single wedding I photograph. Every one. This was no exception. To Marya and Mike – I wish you a lifetime of happiness and love. Thank you for giving me this honor.

Baronette Renaissance Wedding by Metro Detroit Michigan's best wedding photographer

Metro Detroit Michigan wedding photography by Kellie Saunders and her team of top Detroit and Ann Arbor Michigan wedding photographers.
What a beautiful day it was for Rebecca and Phil to celebrate their Baronette Renaissance Hotel wedding with this Metro Detroit Michigan's best wedding photographer! These two Michigan State Alum Lovebirds took a non-traditional route during their wedding day by choosing to sign their Ketubah separately so that they did not see each other until Rebecca glided down the aisle. With such a lovely couple how could I not get such stunning images to celebrate their special day with? Take a peek at some of my favorites, and join me in wishing a lifetime of health, happiness, and laughter to this special couple! A special thank you to Rebecca’s mom Mindy for being so wonderful to work with. She made my job so much easier with her warmth, kindness and good cheer.
