Lisa and Jim wanted to celebrate their Detroit Piquette Plant Wedding with friends and family in a unique and special way. When I first met with Lisa, she said her wedding was at the Ford Piquette Plant in Detroit, as a Metro Detroit wedding photographer my heart skipped a beat. This venue is unique because they really don’t have many weddings there so this was very special for me to be able to capture it for them. No detail was left out as Lisa is a professional in the Michigan wedding and event industry. Her family owns  Special Events Rental Company (www.specialeventsrental.com) which made the day that much more special.   Lisa and Jim had a first look at the Atheneum hotel in Detroit. Since there were so many Detroit weddings at the Atheneum that day we decided to shoot their first look on a random hotel floor. It worked out perfectly and we captured some great images from this moment. After the first look we headed out to the Detroit Public Library and DIA for a few Detroit wedding portraits around town. We also stopped at their favorite wall. Once we finished it was off to the Ford Piquette Plant. I can’t even begin to describe the beautiful work that Special Events Rental Company did for Lisa’s wedding. One word describes Laura and CJ. Troopers! Okay well – maybe more than one word if I had to really describe them (I really do love this couple) – but on their wedding day they were amazing troopers. As Michigan wedding photographers, my team is always ready to conquer weather of all kinds. Snow, rain, hail, wind, sunshine – bring it on. Honestly – who thought on March 29, 2014 we would be at the tail end of the coldest winter ever? When I met Laura over a year ago we talked in detail about her wedding date. With a March wedding date it was all about the rain plan. We didn’t even consider the freezing cold plan. It’s Michigan – and mother nature being the ever loving moody lady that she is gave us a freezing cold and windy day. Laura was cool as can be and really rolled with everything the weather threw at us. She didn’t bat an eye and rather than run from the cold she took her coat off and braved it. I’m so happy she did because we were able to get her a few really beautiful wedding images. CJ and Laura had the most special wedding and their family and friends were nothing short of spectacular. They had the most gracious, friendly and fun friends and family. I’m sure they will all agree when I say that I wish Laura and CJ a lifetime of happiness, laughter and love! They deserve it!
