Kelly + Ken
Southeast MI winter wedding photography at the Little Wedding Chappel in Taylor and Arnoldo's in Riverview was provided by Kellie Saunders and her team of the very best wedding photographers in Michigan.
Snow, sleet, hail, wind, slush - it's called living in Southeast Michigan! I absolutely unequivocally am in love with winter weddings. The truth is, sometimes the weather just plain stinks. Let's face it, you are taking a chance by having a winter wedding. You could have a beautiful snow gently falling on the ground or you could have a lovely winter day with no wind and beautiful sun that warms you a bit. Most of the time, at least in Detroit, it's just darn cold, windy and icky. But there are those few times that it happens. The sun comes out for a brief moment and we are blessed with a few short minutes to take wedding portraits. That's pretty much how it went for Kelly and Ken.
Okay so as far as tough brides go, Kelly ranks pretty high on my scale. I've had some wonderfully tough couples this winter and Kelly and Ken are no exception. What I love the most about my winter couples this past year is that they've been in good spirits no matter what the weather threw at us.
Kelly and Ken had a very beautiful intimate ceremony at The Little Wedding Chapel in Taylor's Heritage Park. There wasn't a dry eye in the chapel as you can see from some of the photos below. Shortly after they said their I-Do's we headed out the door to the park. Now normally Heritage Park is a hot bed of activity. Photographers are swarming everywhere, people are walking their dogs, kids are playing ball, etc. On this day none of that happened because the day before this day there was a snow storm and the park wasn't plowed. Well shucks - it was just our luck right? How were we going to get any decent images with all that snow. When I say all that snow - I mean all that snow. I think there was at least 14" of snow - so just a little over a foot of white fluffy goodness. Ken and Kelly, being the amazing couple that they are didn't bat an eye. Kelly said, "Let's go - let's do this." She put her boots on and Ken held her wedding dress up for her and we made our way through the snow so they could have a few photographs to remember their day.
After we brushed off we headed to Arnoldo's for the wedding reception. Arnoldo's has this ceiling with twinkle lights. It's really interesting and makes you feel like you are under the stars. Their guests had a fabulous time and danced and danced. Congratulations to Kelly and Ken! Here are a few of my favorite images from your big day!

If Kelly's wedding ring wasn't gorgeous enough, she also had such beautiful jewels to bedazzle her.

I loved Kelly's bride robe. She looked so cute!

There's nothing more special than seeing mom on her daughters wedding day.

This was in the Little Wedding Chapel's bridal prep room. The Little Wedding Chapel is located in Heritage Park.

See, I told you - not a dry eye in the house!

These are some brave bridesmaids! They didn't complain at all - they just had a good time!

Chances are, if you are on the dance floor and do something funny, I'm going to catch it!
