PINE KNOB WEDDING PHOTOS
CAYLA + ZACH'S WEDDING DAY AT PINE KNOB MANSION
Jun 16, 2019
Wedding photography provided at the gorgeous Pine Knob Mansion by lead shooters Kellie Saunders and Jen Beattie, one of Southeast Michigan's most creative photography teams.
I have to admit I'm a little behind on blogging, which I apologize for. It's been such a crazy year full of blessings because business is booming! We are back into the full swing of wedding season and I'm vowing to get caught up with blogging along with the regular wedding season fun that we have to tend to. I'll keep the writing short and sweet so I can catch up and you can see some gorgeous photos!
Cayla and Zach couldn't be a lovelier couple and never will you find two people more suited for each other. Cayla's parents worked for the national parks service so she grew up in places like Alaska and oh yeah, yellowstone too! What an amazing journey she had growing up. Well, I guess it's perfect for her that she met Zach who is a REAL farmer! I say real because let's face it, everyone has a garden. But Zach - he has a farm (and a tractor too!). We had the best time working together and Jen and I loved their friends and families! Pine Knob couldn't was so beautiful as the weather was perfect for their outdoor ceremony. They were even able to dance outside under the stars where they had their first dance.
We love photographing weddings at Pine Knob Mansion and Carriage House, so if you are having a wedding there, please contact us because we'd love to get to know you and see if we are a good fit for your big day!
ANN ARBOR MICHIGAN LEAGUE WEDDING
ERINN + CAMERON'S WEDDING DAY PICTURES
Apr 2, 2019
Wedding photography provided at the Michigan Union in Ann Arbor, by Kellie and Jenn who are two of Southeast Michigan's most creative and FUN wedding photographers!
I love Ann Arbor and any chance I get to work there is always a special time for me. What made this Ann Arbor wedding day even more special was being able to spend it with such a love filled, genuine, kind and caring couple! Cameron and Erinn (yes, there are two N's in her name) couldn't be more perfect for each other. I met them as I do everyone and sometimes my couples all blur together after so many years. Every wedding day is special of course, and every couple is special, but after all these years in business I love the fact that I can say there are weddings that always stand out to me. Not to be funny, but sometimes the weddings that stand out are when crazy things happen, like the time a drunken bridesmaid fell asleep during her toast or that wedding where a groomsman forgot to bring his pants and had to borrow a guests pants to walk down the aisle - yes that actually happened. That said, none of those things happened on Erinn and Cameron's wedding day, but their wedding will always be one of my favorites. What happened was something even better. I felt as though I wasn't just working for them, but I could bare witness to this union between two people who love each other selflessly and without fail. I'm not an entirely religious person, but I am a spiritual one. I do believe there is a difference. Erin and Cameron's wedding went off like most Catholic weddings do. They said their vows, gave each other a kiss and then headed to the reception.
Cameron pulled me aside at the reception and told me that he was going to suprise Erinn with a song he composed just for her. I was prepared for him to play the piano, but what I wasn't prepared for what the fact that he had planted several other musicians in the crowd to join in on the composition at different times. As his fingers moved on the keys there was a pause in the melody and everyone heard the soft murmer of a flute joining in. Then, a few moments later we heard a violin as well. The music he created took my breath away and there wasn't a dry eye in the house. To Erinn and Cameron, thank you for allowing us to be there and witness such an incredible celebration of your love! Jen and I left with full hearts and big smiles! xoxoxo

GENNA + JUSTIN's PLANTERRA WEDDING PHOTOS

Metro Detroit Michigan wedding photography at the elegant Planterra provided by Kellie Saunders and her team of creative Detroit, MI wedding photographers. This wedding was photographed by Kellie and Jen together. Jen is a remarkable lead wedding photographer, please check out some of her weddings by clicking HERE. She is available for weddings as a lead shooter, so please inquire for your wedding date.
Oh Planterra, Planterra, Planterra ... I know I've said it before in many previous blog posts, but I feel that I can't say it enough. I simply LOVE working at this venue! Planterra is one of my favorite places to photograph a wedding. From the attentive and energetic staff, to the delightful and stylish handmade floral arrangements, to the masterfully prepared food which will take over your pallette in a good way. Planterra offers an elegant, spectacular and one of a kind wedding day experience to couples and their friends and family. I simply will never tire of working there.
Genna and Justin's wedding day began at the Baronette Renaissance Hotel in Novi which is a great starting point as it's close to Planterra. Genna and Justin prepared for their day at the hotel, but planned on having their first look at Planterra. If you are having your wedding at Planterra we definitely advise you to have a first look so that you have time to really use the venue to it's fullest potential for your wedding day photographs. This is a personal decision and one we can discuss with you, but we definitely suggest taking a look at your timeline if you want some of these images as we can really only do it when the venue is empty, which is before your ceremony takes place. After Genna and Justin were ready they made their way separately over to Planterra where they saw each other for the first time. It was such a sweet and loving moment as they chose to be alone. We stood back and photographed from a distance, and I can't help but smile when I think their first look.
We took wedding day photographs for their bridal party and even finished up with the family formals before their ceremony, so that way once the party started, Genna and Justin were free to party! And party they did! What an absolute fun time they had and trust me they tore up the dance floor. Join me in wishing them a happy life filled with love and laughter! I enjoyed every single part of their wedding day and can't wait to return to my favorite venue ever - Planterra!

DETROIT WEDDING | ERICA AND ADAM

Detroit Michigan wedding photography at the beautiful Roostertail provided by lead shooter Jen Stephens, one of Southeast Michigan's most creative photography teams. Jen is a professional wedding photographer with over 12 years of experience and you can book your wedding with her through Kellie Saunders.
If you are considering a winter wedding in Detroit, you’ll have to see the images from this December wedding at the Roostertail in Detroit. Once again, Detroit does not disappoint! I was so delighted to see the images that Jen and Aaron took on Erica and Adam's at wedding in Detroit. From the first part of the day at the MGM Grand Hotel downtown, to their wedding portraits at the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) to their final destination at the Roostertail on the Detroit River, wow - what gorgeous images! My favorite was looking through their ceremony at the Roostertail. Erica and Adam had an intimate event, with a limited guest list, but don’t think they left out the bling! I was so impressed at the room décor and how every detail was perfected and gorgeous. I especially loved Erica’s tables. See for yourself below. I think you might find some ideas of your own. Now, even though Erica worked with Jen as a lead shooter, I was still involved from behind the scenes, so I was able to chat with her, work on her timeline, edit the images and make sure her experience was smooth and that we exceeded her expectations. Turns out - we did! I am always delighted when couples are happy with the service we provide! You are not just another job to us. We genuinely want to work with couples that we like and couples that like us. We connect with you, because that’s how we can really see you and all the wonderful things that happen on your wedding day to document it in the most authentic way. Here's what Erica had to say about Jen and Aaron."We had Jen and Aaron for the day and we LOVED, LOVED, LOVED these two! Jen is seriously my twin and when I’m back in Michigan or if she’s in Nashville, we’re grabbing a drink together – we had SO much fun with these two! You spend A LOT of time with your photographer(s), so even though how much you like them doesn’t always come as one of your top items on your checklists, it should be! Jen and Aaron not only helped capture moments from what will be one of the best days of our lives, but we had a blast doing it! Tons of laughs, smiles and fun! We had an intimate wedding of 46 people so we only needed them for a short time of 5 hours, but we managed to go to so many locations and snag all the photos we needed and wanted! We’ve only seen the sneak peeks but are supposed to get the full gallery this month and we know based off of what we’ve seen so far that they’ll be wonderful! Family portraits – the things you have to do but no one likes doing them. They were the dream team! Aaron shot the photos while Jen got us all in place and helped grab the kiddo’s attention by making them laugh and smile! We sped through those with ease! I truly was so sad when they had to leave since we had TRULY, the best day ever with them. The day flies by and hubby and I were so glad we were lucky enough to spend it with Jen and Aaron! You’re in great hands!"To Erica and Adam – thank you a million time for trusting us with your memories! We are honored and so happy that you said “yes” to us!!!!
COLONY CLUB WEDDING PHOTOS
JENNY AND COLIN | DETROIT WEDDING PICTURES
Jan 19, 2018
Detroit Michigan wedding photography at the elegant Colony Club provided by lead shooter Jen Stephens and Kellie Saunders, one of Southeast Michigan's best creative photography teams.
Such a lovely day, filled with so many beautiful people inside and out that we had the pleasure of working with on Jenny and Colin's wedding day. The day started at the Detroit Marriott Renaissance on the river where Jenny and Colin had their first look. There was a festival going on near the Ren Cen, so we walked down to Milliken State Park where Colin and Jenny saw each other for the first time on their wedding day. Although it was a longer walk than we anticipated, the magic in the moments all of us experienced more than made up for it. Jenny and Colin continued on at the park for a few moments so we could take some wedding day portraits of them on the Detroit Riverfront before we headed over to the Z-lot Belt Alley for more wedding pictures. Since time was super short this day, Jen accompanied them to Detroit's famous Belt Alley and Z-lot while I went directly to the Colony Club to set up for family formal portraits and meet with the family members who had already arrived. Jen captured beautiful portraits on the roof at the Z-lot and also in the Belt while I waited for the bus to arrive at the Colony Club. Once Jen and Colin made it to their venue, we didn't miss a beat. We took a few portraits at the Colony Club and then went right into family formals before the two officially tied the knot in front of all their friends and family.
The Colony Club ballroom is a classic, elegant and timeless location to exchange wedding vows and we love working there! After Jenny and Colin exchanged vows and shared their first kiss as husband and wife, the staff quickly converted the ceremony site into an absolutely stunning reception space for dinner and dancing. Jenny and Colin celebrated the rest of the night with their loved ones and a good time was had by all! Congratulations Jenny and Colin!!!! We wish you all the love in the world!!!!
