PINE KNOB WEDDING

A good time was had by all, (and I do mean all, including Jen and me) at Heather and Ben's Pine Knob wedding! I was so looking forward to their wedding ever since spending time with them and their cute pooch at their engagement session earlier in the year. Little did they know I was bringing Jen along as she had just joined my team and I wanted her to lead the march on their wedding day for us. Heather and Ben lucked out, because if nothing else, when Jen and I work together, we offer some much needed comic relief during a wedding day. In other words, we can rock out some fun with our couples and their families. 

Heather is just a sweet, sincere and kind woman. She is lovely in every sense of the word. Friendly and hospitable, I can't imagine meeting anyone who doesn't immediately adore her. In the same regard, Ben is a gentleman in every way. He is genuine, compassionate and considerate. Their wedding day was a hot one (as in the sun), and both Ben and Heather were often asking us if we needed anything, making sure we were hydrated and feeling good. It was as if we were just as important to them as their friends and family. It made our day much easier and made photographing them not only fun but heartwarming! Ben and Heather - big high fives to you! How people treat others outside of their immediate circle of friends is a view into what makes them up as a person. Ben and Heather are made of good stuff!

Well, let's not forget their wedding day and how it all went down. We met the two of them at Pine Knob Carriage House where they dressed and readied for the day. We snapped a few quick photos of Heather's gown and details and then went right into the first look outside the Carriage House. Some couples are hesitant to do a first look because they want that "one" moment of seeing each other for the first time while walking down the aisle. I can assure you, in all of my years photographing weddings and working with couples, I've never had anyone regret their first look. Bonus is they get their first look twice because it's always reported back to me that they still felt all the "feels" when they walked down the aisle towards their partner. In a venue like Pine Knob when you have everything at the same place, if my couples want more time for photographs there really isn't a choice but to have a first look. It was a great decision because their photographs are beautiful and we had time to pop over to the mansion for a few bridal party portraits as well. The Pine Knob mansion is a gorgeous venue as well. The grounds are elegant and timeless. I love working at both the Carriage House and the Pine Knob Mansion.

After portraits Heather and Ben were married under the patio behind the Carriage House. It was the perfect day with beautiful light, and since Ben's uncle Rob officiated, it was even that much more special to their guests. There weren't many dry eyes, including ours. Jen and I often have to dab our faces to stop our mascara from running during ceremonies. Sorry, but we have feelings too! :-) Once it was offical and they were married it was onto the party! The service at Pine Knob was stellar as always, and Shawn Boucke, their DJ came with a special surprise as he is also a violinist, so guests enjoyed a little dinner music. It was a beautiful wedding and such a splendid day! Heather and Ben, we wish you all the love and happiness the world has for you!
